K Sera Sera to make film on Indian hockey

New Delhi, Feb 28 (IANS) K Sera Sera, a film production company, Sunday announced it will make a movie on history of Indian hockey for the “resurgence of the game in the country”.

“We were planning to lend our support in one form or the other since a long time for the resurgence of hockey in the country. Being a media and production company, we thought what better way than a movie? It’s something that is always there and watched by everyone in the country,” Sanjay Gupta, CEO of K Sera Sera, told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

Amitabh Bachchan receives Taj Enlighten Tareef Award

Mumbai, Feb 28 (IANS) A day after he won the best actor trophy at the 55th Filmfare Awards for his role in “Paa”, Amitabh Bachchan received the Taj Enlighten Tareef Award Sunday.

“I am thankful for the opportunity given to me. I think this is a fabulous moment and a wonderful idea to capture the life of very prominent artistes, seniors who have been involved with the Indian film Industry,” Bachchan told reporters before receiving the award from the Taj Enlighten Film Society.

Gurgaon residents pay Rs.31 lakh fine to power discom

Gurgaon, Feb 28 (IANS) The residents of DLF phase-4 in this satellite town of the national capital Sunday paid a fine of Rs.31 lakh to a Haryana power distribution company as the power supply of three multi-storey apartment buildings was cut Saturday for unauthorised use of electricity.

About 5,000 residents of Regency Park, Hamilton Tower and Windsor Tower had to live with the power backup systems as the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) disconnected their power supply Saturday evening. The power could only be restored Sunday afternoon after the residents paid the fine.

Chengdu woos Indian firms to invest in China’s IT hub

Bangalore, Feb 28 (IANS) Chengdu in Sichuan province of southwest China is wooing Indian firms to set up software development centres in that country’s IT hub and major outsourcing destination.

“Chengdu is an excellent gateway to China for Indian companies with its huge talent base, low operating cost, government support and presence of large multinational IT and outsourcing firms,” Chengdu mayor Ge Honglin told reporters here Sunday.
