Mel Gibson cleared of assault charges
Los Angeles, July 31 (DPA) Movie star and director Mel Gibson has been cleared by police of claims that he assaulted a man who tried to take a picture of him in a nightclub.
The photographer, named as Karlis Gajevskis, posed as a fan and tried to snap a picture of the newly-divorced Gibson and his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva at the opening of the Playhouse nightclub.
DiCaprio seeks Ritchie’s advice for house in London
London, July 30 (IANS) Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio is having so much fun filming new movie “Inception” here that he is seeking British filmmaker Guy Ritchie’s advice to buy a home in England, according to reports.

35 protected monuments not traceable
New Delhi, July 30 (IANS) Of the 3,675 monuments protected by the central government 35 are not traceable, the Rajya Sabha was informed Thursday.
“Out of 3,675 centrally protected monuments or sites, 35 are not traceable,” the Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs V. Narayanasamy said.
Apollo plans four more children’s hospitals
Chennai, July 30 (IANS) Apollo Hospitals and Enterprises Ltd said Thursday it planned to open four more children’s speciality hospitals including one perhaps in Nigeria, said a company official.
“We are planning to open four more children’s hospitals of which three will be in India and one overseas. The overseas hospital may be in Nigeria,” Prathap C. Reddy, chairman of Apollo Hospitals, told reporters here.
Pachyderm runs riot, Abhi, Aish get stuck during ‘Ravan’ shoot
Thrissur, July 30 (ANI): Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwary Rai Bachchan failed to return to their hotel just after shooting for their new film “Ravan” on Wednesday evening after an elephant went out of control and killed its mahout.
The incident, which occurred after the shooting around 5 p.m. in Athirapally waterfalls area, blocked the road at nearby Athirapally forest area of Kerala’s Thrissur district.
Kunju, the elephant, stood in the middle of the road, thus, obstructing the traffic to move through the road.
As per the latest information “Kunju” had been controlled by chaining it veterinary doctors were on their way from Thrissur to attend the disgruntled elephant, possibly to tranquillise it. .
The killed mahout was Andavan, aged 51.
“Ravan”is being shot in Hindi and Tamil at the thick forests near the waterfalls. Abhishek plays the lead role in the Hindi version while Tamil actor Vikram plays the lead role in regional version, with Aishwarya being the heroine in both versions of the film.
