BCCI wants Sri Lanka’s strict action in no-ball row

New Delhi, Aug 18 (IANS) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Wednesday said Sri Lanka Cricket should take strict action against the players responsible for the no-ball controversy which shrouded the ongoing One-day International (ODI) tri-nation series.

BCCI spokesperson Rajiv Shukla told reporters that the board could do little on the matter, calling it an issue of “player’s conduct.”

‘Less sweaty’ Collingwood anointed chief ball polisher for Ashes

Eyebrows raised over ‘mysterious’ injuries to Pak cricketers

Buchanan denies reports about helping England prepare plan to retain Ashes

Melbourne, Aug 18 (ANI): Ex-Australian coach John Buchanan, who has joined the England and Wales cricket board as consultant, has rejected reports that he is helping England prepare their game plan for winning the Ashes series this summer.

England is considering offering Buchanan a long-term consultancy role, but he insists that his role would be more to do with the generic structure of English cricket rather than it being Ashes specific.

Dilshan asked Randiv to bowl no-ball: reports

Dambulla, Aug 18 (IANS) In a dramatic turn of events, it has now been revealed that it was Sri Lankan batsman Tillekeratne Dilshan and not skipper Kumar Sangakkara who instigated off-spinner Suraj Randiv to bowl a no-ball that denied Virender Sehwag his 13th century in the third one-day international (ODI) of the ongoing triseries.

Media reports here Wednesday claimed that it was Sehwag’s Delhi Daredevils teammate Dilshan, fielding at cover point, who shouted in Sinhalese saying “oney nam, no-ball ekak danna puluwan”, which in English means ‘if you want, you can bowl a no-ball’.
