ICC commends Sri Lanka’s decision to suspend Randiv
Dubai, Aug 19 (ANI): The International Cricket Council has welcomed the decision of the Sri Lanka Cricket to act swiftly and decisively in relation to an incident that took place at the conclusion of the third ODI between Sri Lanka and India at Dambulla on Monday.

Dambulla, Aug 18 (IANS) Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara Wednesday regretted the no-ball controversy involving Suraj Randiv and Indian batsman Virender Sehwag, saying that as a team they take the responsibility of the matter.
Without taking any names Sangakkara, hinted that the issue should not have been “sensationalised.”

Randiv suspended for a match, Dilshan fined (Lead)
Dambulla, Aug 18 (IANS) Sri Lankan cricket board Wednesday suspended off-spinner Suraj Randiv for a match and ordered forfeiture of the match fees of opener Tillakaratne Dilshan for acting in an unsporting manner that deprived Indian opener Virender Sehwag a century in the third one-day international of the tri-series here Monday.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) in a statement said that skipper Kumar Sangakkara was also reprimanded and has been advised to ensure that such incident don’t occur again in future.
Sri Lanka Board suspends Randiv for one ODI, Sangakara warned
Colombo, Aug 18 (ANI): Having found its cricketers guilty in the ‘No Ball’ incident occurred in the Dambulla match the Sri Lanka Cricket Board on Wednesday decided to suspend its cricketer Suraj Randiv for an One- Day International match.
He was found guilty for throwing a ‘ No Ball’ allegedly to prevent Virendra Sehwag from completing his century in match.
Dhoni, Tendulkar, Sehwag nominated for ICC Awards
Dubai, Aug 18 (IANS) India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag have been nominated in three categories for the Internatonal Cricket Council (ICC) Awards 2010 to be held in Bangalore Oct 6.
Dhoni, Tendulkar and Sehwag have respectively been nominated in the Cricketer of the Year, Test Player of the Year and ODI Player of the Year categories.
Smith steps down as Proteas’ Twenty20 captainSports/Sports
Johannesburg, Aug 18 (IANS) Captain Graeme Smith Wednesday announced he will stand down as the South African cricket captain from both the versions of limited overs cricket. He quit the Twenty20 post with immediate effect and will also stand down from his 50-over job after the 2011 World Cup.
Smith, however, will continue to play for both teams and leading the side in Tests.
