Lucknow, May 9 (IANS) Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the producer of the super-hit film “3 Idiots” Sunday served notice for copyright violation on the makers of animation film “The 4th Idiot”.
The notice was served on the “The 4th Idiot” producer and director Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury while the 35-minute film – dealing with memory enhancement techniques – was being screened for students of the local City Montessori Schools here. Omi Vaidya, who made his debut in “3 Idiots”, was also present on the occasion.
New Delhi, May 8 (IANS) Multilingual star R.Madhavan, who has become a popular name in the Hindi film industry after films like “Rang De Basanti” and “3 Idiots”, says he worked hard to set his hair for his first meeting with filmmaker Mani Ratnam, but failed to be part of director’s film “Iruvar”.
“Fourty minutes to set my hair for my first meeting with Mani sir – storm hit chennai- waded through four feet of water – looked like ‘a chicken ready for masala’ when we met,” Madhavan posted on his Twitter page Saturday.

“You have used the name of our movie, its story (including scenario, screenplay, dialogues, etc) characters for publicizing and promoting your film,” according to the notice sent Friday.
New Delhi, May 7 (IANS) Aamir Khan-starrer “3 Idiots” has bagged maximum number of nominations at the 2010 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards to be held in Colombo from June 3.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, “3 Idiots” marked its presence in all categories except best supporting actress. It has received 14 nominations including best film, best actor, best director and best actress, among others.
Mumbai, April 30 (IANS) Bollywood’s evergreen actor Dev Anand was Friday conferred the Phalke Ratna award here while iconic villain Pran was honoured with the Phalke Icon and Legendary Cine Versatile Cine Star award. The honours were given away on the 141st birth anniversary of Dadasaheb Phalke, considered the father of Indian movies.
“Whenever I close my eyes and try to recollect, I see all the legends of Bollywood those who have contributed immensely to Indian cinema. I salute them for all their efforts,” Dev Anand, known for giving hits like “Guide”, “Jewel Thief” and “Hare Rama Hare Krishna”, told reporters after receiving the honour.
